    Some Common diseases in humans 

     

    1. Cholera

    Caused by Bacteria Vibre Cholertera; transmitted by contaminated food and water.

    Symptoms – Vomiting, Diarrhea, Muscular Cramps.

     

    2. Chicken Pox

    Caused by Vercelli Virus; transmitted by direct contact and infected objects.

    Symptoms – Fever, Cold Skin, eruption with red spots.

     

    3. Common Cold

    Caused by Rhino Virus;

    Symptoms – Headache, Cough, nasal discharge, fever.

     

    4. Diphtheria

    Caused by corynebactiurm diphtheria,

    Symptoms – Sore throat, fever, vomiting, formation of patches in throat.

     

    5. Dengu Fever

    Caused by Dengu virus transmitted by mosquito bite.

    Symptoms – Fever, muscular pains, backache, headache, skin rash.

     

    6. Leprosy

    Caused by Microbactrium leprae.

    Symptoms – Skin lesions, ulcer, nodules deformity of fingers and toes and wasting of body parts.

    Caused by Paromyse virus transmitted by direct contact with infected persons and air,

    symptoms – Loss of appetite, vomiting, rash, sensitivity to light.

     

    8. Mumps

    Paramyxevirus transmitted by direct contact,

    Symptoms – Fever or welling of glands, such as salivary glands, headache, backache.

     

    9. Pnemonia

    Caused by diplococcus prieumonia;

    Symptoms – Chill, Pain in chest, Jaundice.

     

    10. Rabies

    Caused by Rabies, virus; transmitted through bite of a mad dog.

    Symptoms – Headache, vomiting, fever, hoarse voice, paralysis.

     

    11. Tetanus

    Caused by clostridium tetani transmitted by direct or indirect inoculation of wound,

    Symptoms – Painful contraction of muscles, Lock jaw.

     

    12. Typhoid

    Salmoneles type; transmitted by contaminated food and water,

    Symptoms – Fever, slow pulse, vomiting, Chill, Diarrhoea.

     

    13. Arthritis

    Causes inflammation o one or more joints; caused by rheumatic fever.

    Symptoms – Fatigue, Joint pain, Joint tenderness, Joint swelling, Joint redness, Joint warmth, Joint stiffness.

    14. Asthma

    a chest disease causing breathing trouble.

    Symptoms – Shortness of breath, Chest tightness or pain, Trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing.

     

    15. Blood Pressure

    Causes are high chronic anxiety, kidney disease etc. Sometimes treated by cutting the nerve of sympathetic, nervous system.

    Symptoms – Dizziness or lightheartedness, Fainting (syncope), Blurred vision.

     

    16. Cancer

    Abnormal growth of cells; symptoms wounds that do not heal, unusual bleeding, change in vowel or loader habits, Treatment surgery  in early stages.

    Symptoms – Blood in the urine, Hoarseness, Persistent lumps or swollen glands, Obvious change in a wart or a mole, Indigestion or difficulty swallowing.

     

    17. Cataract

    Clouding of lens of eye, must be operated.

    Symptoms – Clouded, blurred or dim vision, Increasing difficulty with vision at night, Sensitivity to light and glare, Need for brighter light for reading and other activities.

     

    18. Coma

    Complete loss of consciousness.

     

    19. Diabetes

    Disease of Pancreas. The sugar in food accumulates in blood and is excreted through urine.

    Symptoms – Causes hunger, loss of weight, weakness.

     

    20. Diarrhea

    Looseness of bowels, due to over eating or food poisoning.

    Symptoms – Loose, watery stools, Abdominal cramps, Abdominal pain, Fever, Blood in the stool, Bloating.

     

    21. Insomania

    Symptoms – Inability to sleep.

     

    22. Leukaemia

    Increase in white blood corpuscles in blood. The red blood corpuscles break down and cause hemorrhage in various parts of the body.

    Symptoms – Fever or chills, Persistent fatigue, weakness, Frequent or severe infections, Losing weight without trying, Swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver or spleen, Easy bleeding or bruising, Recurrent nosebleeds, Tiny red spots in your skin (petechiae).

    23. Malaria

    Caused by mosquito bite. The parasite enters the blood and attacks the blood cells.

    Symptoms – shaking chills that can range from moderate to severe, high fever, profuse sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.

     

    24. Plague

    Caused by flies that carry germs from infected rats.

    Symptoms – abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, fever and chills, extreme weakness.

     

    25. Polio

    Disease of nervous system. The movements of nerves are effected; cause by virus.

    Symptoms – Fever, Sore throat, Headache, Vomiting, Fatigue, Back pain or stiffness, Neck pain or stiffness, Pain or stiffness in the arms or legs. Which can be last for 10 years

     

    26. Rickets

    Found in children. Caused by deficiency of vitamin D.

    Symptoms – bowed legs, potbelly, bad teeth.

     

    27. Scurvy

    Caused by lack of vitamin C.

    Symptoms – swollen, spongy and purplish gums that are prone to bleeding, loose teeth, bulging eyes (proptosis), bleeding into the skin (severe and easy bruising), scaly, dry and brownish skin, very dry hair that curls and breaks off close to the skin.

     

    28. Sun Stroke

    Symptoms Headache, dizziness, high temperature.

     

    29. Tonsillitis

    Infection in tonsils caused by streptococci.

    Symptoms – pain while swallowing.

     

    30. Whooping cough

    Symptoms – fever, inflammatory respiratory passage, fits of coughing. Prevention, isolation of patient.
